Working Together

Professional Development

  • Participating as a peer reviewer IS professional development
    • UA Peer Reviewers: 7 master reviewers and 14 peer reviewers
    • Reviewers act as a Subject Matter Expert or External Reviewer on an official course review from another institution
  • Reviewers learn so much as they review a course from the learner’s perspective:
    • they learn how courses are designed and what teaching techniques and instructional technology is being leveraged in other programs and other universities
    • they get to work with a review team from different institutions
    • they become aware of creative ways to teach (instructional choices and taking chances based on student/course needs) while still following the standards

Inclusive Teaching Practices

“Accessibility has been an important part of the QM Rubric since the inception of Quality Matters through a FIPSE grant in 2003-2006. It is addressed in the QM Higher Education Rubric, Sixth Edition, General Standard 8: Accessibility and Usability, and QM provides professional development and resources to help individuals and institutions create accessible courses. “ QM Digital Accessibility White Papers
